Our cherished character in this graphic, Alph, (illustrated by John Kryston) and lyric excerpt by ELA’s founder Pamela Sackett comes from one of our songbooks: My Alphabet to Freedom. We have adorned a journal book with art and these words because we highly recommend and endorse self-reflection and writing as one of the key operatives for learning and developing communication skills, beginning with self-communication.These practices are essential for developing trust in the part of our brain that enables us to think critically and creatively and for expanding our capacities in doing so…while deep breathing!
